We all know what it’s like to overreact.
Someone does something innocuous – your spouse leaves the toothpaste tube open, your child says something, your friend makes a comment
Something triggers us – and then we launch a counterattack to protect ourselves. We might yell, lash out, or behave in other ways that aren’t ideal.
When the overreaction is over we might feel remorse. Hopefully we apologize to whomever we’ve inadvertently impacted.
However, in the moment of the overreaction it feels like we can’t control ourselves, our primal wiring takes over. We feel attacked and must protect ourselves. We are in survival mode.
Habitually overreacting to situations is an invitation for self exploration. Because overreacting isn’t random. There is a reason your primal defense mechanism gets triggered. And you have the power to change that. To heal and transform that wounded part that is at the core of the reaction. And once you do that – what once triggered you no longer holds power over you.
There are many ways to actually break the habit of overreacting. My favorite is EFT because it works so quickly. To read more about EFT click here.
But overreacting isn’t limited to your emotions and behavior.
Your body can overreact too. That’s what we call an allergy.
Allergies are simply your body habitually overreacting to a stimulus.
You eat something, inhale something , touch something and your immune system goes into overdrive.
It senses danger! It must protect you at all costs. So it calls in the cavalry – to help you expel this noxious invader.
You might sneeze or cough. Your nose runs, your eyes tear.
Or you have a stomach ache. Nausea, gas, bloating, diarrhea and sometimes even constipation.
The thing is – the pollen, the dairy, the whatever – isn’t really dangerous. Your body is mistaken. It misunderstood.
But we can reeducate your body, your immune system. We can reprogram it to understand that the allergen is safe. There’s no need to overreact.
And then you can breathe flowers blossoming and enjoy it.
You can put milk in your coffee and savor it.
You can enjoy the things that now cause you pain and discomfort.
Using NAET we can eliminate your allergy and give you your freedom back.
